Q1. How long does it take for the posts to be totally covered over?
6-8 months
Q2. How much water will they need?
Twice per week for the first six months. Then once per week after this period [summer months only]
Q3. Can screens be moved after planting?
No, the screens are held into place so can't be moved but if you would prefer the screens to be mobile, then it would perhaps be better to go for the option of the screens in wooden planter troughs, that way, if you should move house, then you can take them with you!
Q4. Why should I plant 'Hedera Green Screens' instead of erecting a fence or building a brick wall?
A. There are many advantages to planting our screens. Firstly, they are environmentally friendly, they encourage more wild life into the garden, far more pleasing to look at and virtually maintenance free!
Q5. How often will I need to trim them?
A. Twice a year if you want them to look quite neat and tidy, otherwise you could go for a more natural, fuller looking hedge, and leave them a little longer.
Q6. Will they need feeding at all?
A. Yes, it's a good idea to feed them once a year to keep them looking healthy and to encourage growth. Late Spring is a good time.
Q7. Do I need planning permission?
A. No, up to 1.8mtr high can be planted without planning permission.
Q8. Will the screens really create an 'instant hedge'?
A. Yes, the installation is quite straight forward, and once installed you have an 'instant hedge' in your garden, that will go on improving as time goes by.
