The Helix ground covering and soil stabilization matting is ideal for instant ground cover. Perfect for road side embankments and steep slopes where maintenance of a grassed bank would be particularly difficult and time consuming. Each 1m2 mat consists of mature 1Ltr pot root ball sized plants and are grown in for 16 weeks on a coconut fibre mat base with a mulch layer included, so weed growth is minimal. The mats are already well established in the vegetation mat when they arrive and are ready to be 'pegged' in place. We supply bio-degradable pegs, one for each corner of the mat to hold it in place. The mats will however require watering daily for around four weeks whilst they establish. (longer if weather conditions are dry). The choice of plants chosen for the UK market are Hedera hibernica, Symphoricarpos albus or Lonicera pileata, each providing an excellent, instant ground covering solution providing good colour and foliage.
